Right now I work for an affiliate marketing agency in Manchester, UK. When I’m not developing in-house projects I’m making software and tools to help affiliates, merchants and publishers.
I started out in 2007 as a freelance web developer. My first projects were small, building static websites and writing simple PHP scripts. I progressed to much larger sites and began developing on frameworks and content management systems (all PHP) like Joomla! and Magento.
I then went to University studying for a degree in computer science. I learned Java, became familiar with Oracle and brushed up on Cisco networking. Two years into the course I was disappointed with the curriculum. Two weeks later I was approached by a very successful online marketing agency and have been in full time employment ever since.
I use Python and Ubuntu Linux every day.
